A Tool for Everyone

A program that contains all of this information would have to be complicated, wouldn't it? In the past many software programs have been overly complex. The user interface has gotten in the way of actual learning. The Virtual Historian interface actually enhances the learning experience.

We have done several live demonstrations in the BYU Bookstore during Graduation, Women's Conference, and Education Week. People see the Virtual Reality photographs and are naturally interested in what they are. Many who stop are novice computer users and assume that they could never figure out such a program.

After just a few minutes using the program people were amazed at how easy it was to use. One woman had heard us explain the program to several people and was interested. She said to us, "You keep saying that anyone can use this program. I don't know anything about computers. Am I going to be able to use this?" We let her play around with the program and she decided to buy it.

A few weeks later we were back at BYU demoing the software again. This same woman started walking up to people who were looking at the program and telling them how easy it was to use.
